1991 BMW (E30) 325I SPORT
5 SPEED MANUAL
3 DOOR SALOON
A smart example of the desirable E30-generation coupe, featuring various cosmetic and performance modifications and benefitting from a recent service.
Under the front-hinged bonnet is the 2.5-litre 'M20' straight-six, which is fed via a set of individual throttle bodies, coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox
First registered in January 1991, the car was acquired by its most recent private owner five years ago, and is now offered for sale via the trade.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
This 325i Sport is finished in the eye-catching hue of Brilliant Red, and was reportedly fitted with the M Technic II body kit from new, giving it a particularly purposeful aesthetic.
While it left the factory with grey cloth upholstery, the cabin has since been retrimmed in black leather with BMW's M Division's tricolour slashes emblazoned on the seats, while the steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake grip have been covered in black Alcantara with red and blue accent stitching.
Under the bonnet, the rebuilt engine breathes via a set of individual throttle bodies with a carbon airbox from RHD Engineering, and a front strut brace has been added to improve the car's rigidity.
The car's handling has also been enhanced via a mixture of Bilstein B12 and Raceland suspension dampers and springs, while a pair of Wilwood front brake callipers improve stopping power.
It sits on a set of 17-inch Alpina alloy wheels.
The car will be accompanied by a number of invoices for its past maintenance and modifications, its logbook, its full tool kit and two keys.
There is no known bodywork damage. Past MOT test results suggest that the car's underside has previously been repaired to remove corrosion.
Believed to have been fully resprayed in the past, the paintwork is in good overall condition, with some minor chips and blemishes on the bottom of the front bumper and light swirl marks around the car, but no substantial scratches or other damage.
Fully retrimmed in black leather, the cabin presents very well indeed, and while there are some marks on the driver's door card and a small split on the dashboard, this is commensurate with the car's age and mileage.
There are no known electrical or mechanical faults with the vehicle, and there are no warning lights showing on the dashboard.
This E30s last MOT test was conducted on 17 December 2020 at 156,425 miles, resulting in a first-time pass with one advisory for its stretched tyres.
The 325i's most recent routine maintenance was carried out in December 2020 at 156,425 miles by Elliott's Motor Engineers, who changed the engine oil, oil filter, spark plugs and battery.
The engine, gearbox and differential were also fully rebuilt in March 2016.
This E30-generation BMW 325i Sport is a good example of the early-90s executive coupe, presented in smart overall condition and benefiting from a recent service. Evidently refurbished in the past and featuring a number of tasteful modifications, this purposeful modern classic would make an interesting daily driver or characterful weekend toy for any BMW enthusiast.
